TCMS Assistant Principal Shelby Meeks
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Telfair County Middle School! I am super excited to serve as the assistant principal of instruction at TCMS and look forward to the awesome plans and amazing journey ahead of us this year. For the past 26 years, I have had the honor and privilege to work in the Telfair County School District as a paraprofessional, teacher, and an instructional coach and look forward to many more years working with the amazing students, teachers, staff, and parents toward student growth and academic success.
As assistant principal, my primary goal is to create a safe and viable learning environment so that teachers can provide exceptional instruction and students can thrive academically. Although the previous school year was difficult for our teachers, students, and parents due to the Covid pandemic, our number one priority at TCMS is closing the learning gaps that may have been created by unavoidable school closures, student absences, and virtual learning. Our students will succeed!
As a veteran educator who has been in the classroom for 26 years, It is my belief that all students can learn and find academic success. In order for this to occur, effective, research-based instruction must be presented in such a way to meet each student’s individual needs. In addition, teachers and students must set and work toward personal, professional, and academic goals in order to obtain academic success. Personal and academic goals are crucial to growth as a teacher, student and productive member of society. Goal-setting, targeted instruction, and effective research-based will be the cornerstone for educational growth this school year at TCMS.
If you ever have a question or concern, please don’t hesitate to contact me. It is our mission at TCMS to provide every student with a positive and productive learning environment and every parent with the support needed to assist their child in academic learning success. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you in the 2021-2022 school year. Go Trojans!
Sincerely,
Shelby Meeks
